HIGH RIVER, Alta. - Wildrose party Leader Danielle Smith was met by a silent protester as she left a community centre after voting in High River, south of Calgary, this morning.

Smith joked with reporters as she cast her ballot that she was voting strategically this election.

Outside the Highwood Memorial Centre she was greeted by Brigette DePape (duh-PAP'), the page who disrupted the federal throne speech last year with her "Stop Harper" sign.

Dressed in a page costume with white gloves, she stood in front of Smith holding a sign that read "Stop Harper's Gang."

Smith observed that her party must be doing well if the opposition was importing protesters from Ottawa.

DePape said she was there on her own to speak for young people, saying that Wildrose policies are even more extreme than those of the Harper government.

Wildrose goes down.

All people posting here who can only find fault and criticize Depape's actions :

You are part of the problem she seeks to remedy.
No surprise that you react with nothing but factually barren contempt.

Never mess with the Depape.

You will lose every time.

I wondered what happened to her. It's nice to see that she is sticking to her convictions.

Brigette Depape has been totally polluted by communistic ideals. This young girl demonstrates immaturity along with flaws in the understanding of the ral world.
07:29 PM on 04/23/2012
Are you serious? What's the "ral" world?
11:43 PM on 04/23/2012
Communistic? Really? Are you able to define that other than saying it's anything that's more progressive than Stephen Harper?

I am a person that enjoys our freedoms of speech and expressions. Lucky we live in a Country that allows that. But how does Brigette DePape pay for a trip from Ottawa to Calgary? Hmm who is backing her antics?
07:21 PM on 04/23/2012
She is from Manitoba, it's about a 14 hour drive, depending on how many pit stops have to be made. You would most likely find numerous people who would drive there. You're innuendo only reflects back at you.

If this Wildrose gang goes national, it could be a great way to restore balance to our so-called democracy. Instead of one right-wing party sucking up all the conservative votes, thus winning each time, the conservative vote could become nicely splintered again between multiple parties, just as the progressive/mainstream vote is divided between the NDP, Liberal, and Green parties (with no one ever winning).

Wow, this little girl will do anything for another few minutes of media attention.
Canada's Donald Trump or Kim Kardashian.

Brigette DePape is a political activist. She has nothing even remotely in common with Donald Trump or Kim Kardashian.

We need both new parties and new blood at Canada's helm. The people of Alberta can now be part of a Canada that does not do business the way the Liberals and the Conservaties have been doinf for so long. Let us call it the day of redemption when the Wildrose Party and Danielle Smith take office next week.
