Father's Time-Lapse Video Of Daughter: From Birth To Age 12 (VIDEO)

2 For Couples  |  Posted: 04/23/2012 10:16 am

A father named Frans Hofmeester has done something very cool.

He filmed his daughter Lotte every week from birth up until age 12 (and continues to do so), and has made an inspiring 2 minute 45 second time-lapse video showing her over the years. (He also did the same for his now nine-year-old son, Vince.)

What a neat idea, and tribute to his angel.

What a wonderful thing to do and to create this art for 12 years, the memories must seem so fresh for the father as he would remember the words of his daughter. She is beautiful now and she will also remember her words and her father's love. Just amazing!

btw, my daughter, now almost 19 is similarly good-looking, but I'd trade attractiveness for kindness towards me and others close to her in a second. I actually think good looks can work AGAINST females, if they themselves hear constantly how wonderful they look. Anyhow, I'm hoping that trekking around Europe will change her attitude for the better !

I took photos, not vid, but my daughter (born in 1993) has turned into a cold, aloof, almost mean individual. She doesnt care much about her aging Grandma, or other elderly relatives who were extremely kind to her growing up. As a Dad, I spent a HUGE amt of time taking her on walks, hikes, bicycle trips, you name it. She treats me quite bad, and when I ask advice from others, I am told "you must expoect that from girls in the 14-19 age range" ! Why ??? This is just an excuse to treat those that have loved and cared for them like crap ? As for her attitude towards her Mother, its somewhat better, but keep in mind its Mom who let her have a car at 18, has allowed her to foresake school for travelling around Europe (without even my input), so its a case of being somewhat nice to the one that controls the purse strings, for now. Many other professional couples (families) we know have VERY similar behavioural issues with THEIR daughters of similar age. One fellow ( a doctor) told me HIS daughter tells him to f-- off quite regularly. At least I dont get that ! Anyways video-father, good luck in the coming years. If you are in western culture, chances are daughter will turn to the dark side for a numberof years, giving her the excuse (by many at least) to treat you and anyone else close to her, like crap!

You know, that's pretty awesome! She will treasure these when she's old enough to really appreciate them.

Super cool video and such a gorgeous kid.

Good video, corny music. Why not add the child's voice to the video as well, instead of the irritating music?
08:36 AM on 04/24/2012
This is a very good idea. Keep the music low and had your daughter talk about anything for two minute 45 secs. That would be very captivating. Congratulation for your idea and this cute girl.

I'm serious. One would be able to hear the change in voice quality of the kid through the years. That would be more compelling and more human, I think, than the audio track that's on the film right now. Think about it: when 5 or 10 years go by, and this kind of sonic 'non-differentianted nothing music' falls out of fashion, this video will be a difficult one to watch with the volume on. Anyways.

Typical girl. Never stops talking. Seriously, a very cool video for the family to cherish as the years go by.
