Toronto police are looking for a thief who stole nine framed prints from the Hospital for Sick Children.

"On April 19th a man walked into the Hospital for Sick Kids and simply he stole nine 18-by-18 framed prints from the wall," said Const. Tony Vella. .

One security camera captures an image of a young man, walking a hospital hallway with hands tucked into his pant pockets.

In another, he's pushing a metal trolley piled high with artwork out of the Burton Wing of the hospital.

Police say his get-away car was a light coloured four-door Mercedes.

Sick Kids commissioned the art from local Ontario College of Art and Design graduate Darren Rigo.

Each piece was a collage of items found in a hospital, then shaped into the letters of the alphabet.

The artist said stealing the works took some effort.

"I'm pretty sure they were bolted to the wall," he said.

The estimated value of each print is between $800 to $1,000.
