Peel police lay charges after fatal motorcycle crash

Peel Regional Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a Mississauga teenager.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police say that a motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic on Mississauga Road and “violently struck” a city bus.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Kyle Sayani, 19, of Mississauga.

Police said they believed the deceased was travelling alongside a green-coloured motorcycle “at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.”

On Thursday evening, police announced that they had arrested a 21-year-old Brampton man, who they believe was riding the green motorcycle.

The accused faces charges of failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

He will appear in a Brampton court on Friday.
