The second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs will begin Saturday, the NHL has announced, and both series will be broadcast by Hockey Night in Canada.
HNIC's second-round coverage begins with Game 1 of the Rangers-Capitals series on Saturday in New York (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 3 p.m. ET), followed by the opener of the Devils-Flyers series on Sunday in Philadelphia (CBC, CBCSports.ca 3 p.m. ET).
Game 2 of Rangers-Capitals goes Monday night (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 7:30 p.m. ET), with Game 2 of Devils-Flyers on Tuesday (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 7:30 p.m. ET).
If a Game 7 is necessary in either Eastern series, it will be played on Saturday, May 12.
The Rangers-Capitals series is a rematch of last year's first-round set, which Washington won in five games.
The Flyers and Devils last met in the playoffs in the opening round two years ago, with Philly prevailing in five.
The second round of the Western Conference playoffs begins Friday with the opener of the Nashville-Phoenix series.
