Good job, Rob...
Given Toronto's $4.4 BILLION debt load, maybe Rob can begin paying down the debt.
At this rate it'll only take 12 years for Toronto to be debt free (providing some spendthrift like Miller doesn't get back in as mayor).

the surpluses in the miller days were 367 million ---------ford gave up 60 million in revenue from vehicle registration fees ----that would leave a budget surplus of 307 million ---if ford did absolutely zero --

ford made adjustments ------the surplus is 292 million -----15 million less than would have been the case had he done nothing

I don't know where this surprise surplus came from? But I certainly don't want Ford to take credit for it. I would love an explanation though?

I'm guessing that a sizeable chunk came from the money saved on snow removal during our non-winter.

What gets me is his promises more or less was built on cutting spending and balancing the budget. He gets elected and does just that, but everyone starts complaining that he cut services.
Duh, what did you think he was going to do, or were people just angry because they cut their services.

So looks like he accomplished what he said he would. Good job.

Please don't give him credit. Apparently it was the many departments finding inefficiencies.
They will tell us more on Monday. Really, how could he have done it? KPMG probably did the ground work. It just happened to be on his watch.
