With only one game on the schedule, the Coyotes and Predators made the most of the hockey world's undivided attention on Friday night. Except you can always count on a 60-goal scorer to steal the thunder.
Here are three NHL stories from Day 16 of the Stanley Cup playoffs:
1. Ray Whitney's wizardry casted a spell on Jobing.com arena after he scored a thrilling OT winner to give the Coyotes a 1-0 series lead over the Predators. The veteran winger's heroics left fans howling in the desert and on Twitter.
2. Steven Stamkos is starting to look like that overachieving student everyone had in their class growing up. As if scoring 60 goals wasn't enough, he just had to go get nominated for league MVP, too. Does Stamkos deserve the Hart Trophy nomination? Vote in our poll and check out how the Twitterverse feels.
3. No Canadian teams left in the NHL playoffs? No problem, says CBCSports.ca hockey writer Tim Wharnsby. There are still plenty of Canucks to cheer for and lots of hockey to watch in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
