FOGO ISLAND, N.L. - The ferry that serves Newfoundland's Fogo and Change Islands is out of commission.

The Beaumont Hamel has a broken thruster.

The vessel Nonia — taken off the Bell Island run — will start serving Fogo and Change Islands on Thursday.

Until then, the provincial government is offering the use of a fixed-wing aircraft on Fogo Island.

A helicopter will be used on Change Islands.

The fare is the same as the ferry, but travellers must pay in cash.
