Police cordoned off a residence in Surrey, B.C., Thursday as they investigated the homicide of a man within the stately home.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation, RCMP said.
Police were called at about 12:15 p.m. PT at the home in the 12000 block of 70th Avenue.
Local reports have said the victim was a man in his 50s who lived in a basement suite with a girlfriend and that there was an argument there earlier in the day.
No name has been released and there is no word on any arrests.
Police also have not said if they believe there is any connection to the fatal shooting Wednesday of drug trafficker and gang associate Ranjit Cheema in Vancouver.
