NAIN, N.L. - A second vote will take place to determine the next president of Labrador's Inuit government after no clear winner emerged in the first ballot.

The Nunatsiavut election was held Tuesday, however no candidate received more than 50 per cent of the votes cast as is required under the government's Elections Act.

Electoral officer Jack Shiwak says a second vote will be held on June 11.

Advance polls open on June 4.

The two candidates who received the most votes the first time — Johannes Lampe and Sarah Leo — will be on the ballot.
