More than 2,100 marijuana plants, a handgun and a stolen all-terrain vehicle have been seized from a home in Scoudouc.

The plants, once matured, could have produced nearly one million joints, RCMP Cpl. Denis Hache stated in a news release.

Two men from the area, aged 26 and 27, have been arrested and will face charges in court at a later date, he said.

Police executed a search warrant at the home on Thursday.

The investigation is part of the Marijuana Grow Initiative, the RCMP's national strategy to combat marijuana grow operations and the organized crime groups running them, said Hache.
