BARRIE, Ont. -- Two women who were found dead at a hotel in Barrie, Ont., this week were both stabbed in the neck.

Helen Dorrington, 52, of Cold Lake, Alta., and Mary Hepburn, 32, who recently moved back to Barrie from Alberta, were found dead Wednesday.

Autopsies were done Thursday.

Mark Dobson, 22, of Barrie, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Police say he used to live in British Columbia and then moved back to Barrie in July, 2011.

Police say all three people were known to each other, but haven't said how.

The suspect tried to cut his own throat and wrists after killing the two women, so he wasn't going to get very far. To bad he didn't succeed and save the taxpayers some money.
