Toronto police are looking to speak with drivers who saw a sport-utility vehicle approach an east-end intersection, where it lost control and struck a bus shelter, a vehicle and a pedestrian on Monday morning.
Police say a Ford Escape was travelling east along Steeles Avenue East, where it lost control while in the curb lane approaching Birchmount Road.
The vehicle went over the curb, struck a bus shelter, then hit a traffic signal pole and a 33-year-old female pedestrian. It came to rest when it collided with a vehicle in the intersection.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
The Ford Escape driver suffered minor injuries.
Police say they want to speak with drivers who saw the Ford Escape before it reached the intersection, or anyone who saw the collision itself.
