Man, 50, Arrested After Teen Girl Stabbed

A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital after she was stabbed in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area late Tuesday afternoon.


Toronto police responded to a reported altercation at 88 Broadway Ave., just after 4 p.m. ET.


A 50-year-old man was arrested and the girl was taken to hospital.


Police say the girl is in stable but serious condition. She was stabbed more than once and had several lacerations to her neck.

This is horrendous. I feel so sorry for this poor young girl. I'm relieved to hear
her condition has stabilized even though it is still very serious. I hope she recovers soon.

What is happening to our society? This happened on the end of my block! It is a nice neighbourhood! If you have family or mental problems, get help!
If it comes out that this has anything to do with a possible 'honour' killing, I will freak!

What should we do?

- Deal with violent and aggressive behaviors
- Create a knife registry...

Oh yes I've seen so many multiple knifings and drive by knifings, also, many domestic abuse incidents are knifings, (sarcasm in case you didn't get it). In actuality, there are many more crimes committed with guns! Oh and if you are Canadian, it is spelled B.E.H.A.V.I.O.U.R.

Well... if you were to spend some time at your local court house... you'd soon learn that the two most common "assault weapons" are
- knives
- Blunt object

But regardless... as with all crime committed with a weapon: The registration status of the weapon would be a moot point
