Worker at Saskatchewan group home for disabled ordered to stand trial

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. - A former employee at a care home in west-central Saskatchewan has been ordered to stand trial.

Ashley Marie Johnson was a part-time care worker at a group home in North Battleford that cares for people with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Mounties charged her with assault and of administering a noxious substance.

Johnson was 24 at the time of the incident.

The person suffered non life-threatening injuries, though has since fully recovered.

The trial will be at the Battleford Court of Queen's Bench, but the dates have not yet been finalized.
