Toronto Stock Exchange (11,330.68, up 4.60 points):

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 48 cents, or 6.47 per cent, at $7.90 on 16,183,990 shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurer. Down nine cents, or 0.8 per cent, at $11.16 on 12,662,766 shares.

Athabasca Oil Corp. (TSX:ATH). Oil and gas. Down 10 cents, or 0.96 per cent, at $10.35 on 9,321,040 shares.

Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Up 35 cents, or 5.25 per cent, at $7.02 on 5,147,775 shares.

Husky Energy Inc. (TSX:HSE). Oil and gas. Down 18 cents, or 0.78 per cent, at $22.99 on 5,069,997 shares.

Cline Mining Corp. (TSX:CMK). Miner. Up 11 cents, or 18.97 per cent, at 69 cents on 4,899,674 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,228.07, up 10.33 points):

Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. (TSXV:TRR). Miner. Down one cent, or 0.3 per cent, at $3.27 on 7,041,503 shares.

Pinecrest Energy Inc. (TSXV:PRY). Oil and gas. Up four cents, or 2.04 per cent, at $2 on 4,533,282 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Canadian Pacific Railway (TSX:CP). Railway. Up 65 cents, or 0.86 per cent, at $76.51 on 2,617,428 shares. Fred Green announced his resignation on Thursday. The embattled railroad operator announced after a short-lived shareholder meeting that it has appointed newly-elected director and railway veteran Stephen Tobias as interim CEO, while a just-formed board committee hunts for a new head.

Sears Canada (TSX:SCC). Retail outlet. Down $1.70, or 12.93 per cent, at $11.45 on 23,057 shares. Thursday's drop in share value came after its U.S. parent announced plans to dramatically reduce its holdings in the troubled department store chain and to consider divesting its entire stake.
