Over the weekend the America’s Next Top Model Live show took place in Toronto and the runways were rocking with Top Models from the hit show. Before the event we got a chance to get some insider tips from Rossa Jurenas, Essential Looks Artist and Canadian Hairstylist of the Year winner. We gave you the scoop on some looks that the models would we wearing, and now we have a way to get that look at home.

Braids were the big look over the weekend, and have been continually sported this season on runways around the world. From wild bold braids to softer sweet styles, the braid is a versatile look that can work for any woman of any age. Rossa gave us tips on one braid trend that will be easy for anyone to rock this summer.

An age neutral braid as recommended by Rossa involves a lightly textured side braid. Rossa suggest roughing up your hair with a mouse before styling, to keep the texture and hold throughout the day. Add volume at the crown by using a paddle brush or your fingers to create a tousled look. Gather hair to one side and start a braid at about ear length.

If any pieces fall out don’t worry, this will add to the relaxed look. Once you have secured the braid at the bottom you can spray it lightly to give it extra hold, but be sure to leave it soft. This classic and simple style can be sported with any outfit throughout the summer, and you can dress it up or down depending on your mood. Make it your own by adding accessories into your hair like a clip, fresh flowers, or a headband.
