A man sought by police in connection with Wednesday’s fatal shooting in Oriole Park has been charged with first-degree murder after turning himself in to police on Saturday.

David Ludwig, 33, surrendered one day after a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

He is now charged in the death of James Massey, 32, who was found lying in the park near Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue without vital signs at 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police said Massey had been shot in the abdomen with a shotgun at close range. He later died in hospital.

Residents of the area reported hearing two people arguing moments before Massey was shot.

Ludwig is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
