Two youths were injured by an exploding tire just before 7 p.m. in Brampton Tuesday night, according to Peel police.
Police said the accident occurred on Drake Boulevard near Torbram Road and Balmoral Drive.
A car was stuck on a curb and several people had been trying to help get it off the curb.
The wheel of the vehicle was spinning and a tire exploded, striking both victims.
Paramedics said one of the boys struck by the tire nearly had his leg severed.
One of the victims suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital. The other youth was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
