A Calgary woman has just been found guilty of manslaughter in the death of her mother.
Britanney Mahingen, 20, was charged after the body of her mother was discovered in a downtown highrise suite back in November 2010.
Court heard the mother and daughter had been drinking while babysitting a friend's toddler.
Leanne Mahingen was found dead with bruises, contusions and several superficial stab wounds.
The jury had been given the option of finding the young woman guilty of second degree murder, as charged, or manslaughter if they did not find intent.
More to come.
