Prince George death upgraded to homicide investigation

RCMP in Prince George, B.C, say the suspicious death of a woman last week is now being investigated as a homicide.

Early last Thursday morning police were called to a rural home on Holmes Road, just east of the city. When officers arrived they found the dead woman and a critically injured man, according to Const. Julie Champagne.

This week, the B.C. Coroners Service completed an autopsy on the woman's body and determined the cause of death appeared to be the result of a homicide.

Police aren't releasing any more details, but have said it does not appear to have been a random attack.

Meanwhile, the adult man found at the scene is in a Lower Mainland hospital in stable condition. Police won't say if he is a suspect:

"We are still investigating the matter and trying to figure out what happened on May 10 in that residence," said Champagne.
