FEED Needy Families With Lauren Bush's Burlap Bag

Ex-model, philanthropist and FEED co-founder, Lauren Bush is as giving as she is gorgeous: the city was abuzz when she touched down in Toronto last week at Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street store.

The former presidential niece (to George Bush senior) spoke to media and fans at a special cocktail reception at the Holt Renfrew Cafe to help spread awareness about world hunger and raise money to help.

The chic incentive? An exclusive Tory Burch designed handmade burlap bag that's only available in Canada.

Proceeds from the sales of limited edition FEED tribal-inspired tote aims to raise money to help and empower underprivileged women and children. Holt Renfrew’s goal is to raise $100,000 to contribute to 500,000 meals for children and $50,000 in microfinance and family mentoring support to benefit the Tory Burch Foundation.

After Bush spoke about her work with FEED at the Holt Renfrew event, bags couldn’t be replenished fast enough. She started the charitable initiative back in 2005, launching a new bag each year and partnering with companies to help in the effort to raise thousands to help.

Sales from the proceeds of the special FEED bags so far have given about 65-million school meals to children in need. Talk about handbags with heart!
