MONTREAL - What appears to have been a minor fire on Thursday forced patrons from Schwartz's, an iconic smoked-meat joint in Montreal.

Smoke was seen at the eatery early in the evening, prompting everyone inside to leave the restaurant.

A Montreal fire official said nobody was hurt.

The restaurant is now owned by a consortium that includes singer Celine Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil.

They purchased the landmark eatery earlier this year.
