SALMON ARM, B.C. - A five-week-old kitten is recovering after being left for dead in a sealed trash bag by the side of a road in Salmon Arm, B.C.

The SPCA's Lorie Chortyk says the bag with the grey tabby was found by some mailboxes on Wednesday when someone went to check their mail and heard the kitty crying.

She says the rescuer opened the bag to free the cat and and took it to an SPCA office.

Chortyk says the kitty — dubbed Pip — is expected to recover.

The SPCA is appealing to the public for information on who may be responsible. (CHNL)
