Metro Vancouver gas prices match record levels

Gas prices in Metro Vancouver hit record levels on Friday morning, starting the day at many stations at more than $1.50 per litre before rising further.

As the morning went on prices kept going up, with unconfirmed reports on saying some stations were charging more than $1.52 by 10 a.m. PT.

The prices appear to match record levels last seen in July 2008, when regular gasoline hit $1.52 in Vancouver and Victoria.

Across Canada the average price is $1.27, while drivers in Edmonton are paying as little as $1.02 per litre, according to
