Police are looking for a light-coloured Chrysler with damage to the driver's front side after a pedestrian was hit in Surrey, B.C., early Sunday morning.
Mounties received several calls that a pedestrian had been hit in a parking lot near the Wheelhouse Neighbourhood Pub, at 128th Street and 96th Avenue, at about 1:30 a.m. PT.
A man in his 20s sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The driver fled the scene, but police believe the incident started as an altercation between two groups of men. The incident apparently escalated from a verbal exchange to a physical altercation but was broken up by several witnesses.
Police say one group was later leaving in a light-coloured Chrysler when a man from the second group was struck.
Anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
