ANTIGONISH, N.S. - Plans are in the works to build two new student residences at St. Francis Xavier in Nova Scotia.

Spokesman Bob Hale says the new buildings will house 330 students and will be constructed near MacIsaac Hall in Antigonish.

Construction is expected to begin in July with completion slated for the summer of next year.

The University says the designs include gourmet kitchens, lounges with big-screen TVs and meeting rooms.

Project manager Tim Handforth says the curved residences will complement the other buildings on campus.

He says the energy efficient buildings will have geothermal heating and LED lighting.
