Kings draw 1st blood in Stanley Cup final

Anze Kopitar broke in alone at 8:13 of overtime to lift the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final on Wednesday night.

Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick made 17 saves in the win while Devils veteran Martin Brodeur was solid, turning aside 24 of the 25 shots he faced.

Colin Fraser opened the scoring for the Kings with a wrist shot that beat Martin Brodeur midway through the first period.

Devils defender Anton Volchenkov replied at 18:48 of the second period for his first post-season goal. Patrik Elias and David Clarkson drew assists.
