Celebrities have as many 'dos as they have hairs on their heads -- just ask Katy, or Miley, or Beyonce or... well, you get the picture. They're an endless source of inspiration for our own lids, so we bring you 21 celebrity hairstyle how-tos -- a style for each day leading up to summer (plus one more for good measure) -- including everything from Kim Kardashian's trademark bun to Rihanna's '70s-inspired waves.
Some of these styles are straightforward, like Gwyneth Paltrow's pencil-straight tresses, while others require a bit more patience, like Scarlett Johansson's milkmaid braid. Some updos will look right at home on the red carpet, while every girl can tousle up some loose waves any day of the week.

GWYNETH PALTROW -- PENCIL STRAIGHT
Treat wet hair with heat protectant, blow dry with round brush, part in the centre, iron hair by sections, finish with hairspray to tame flyaways.
ZOOEY DESCHANEL -- RETRO UPDO
Add shine serum to dry hair. Pull hair back into a French twist, securing with bobby pins. When the twist reaches the crown of the head, fasten the twist with pins and let the loose hair fall in a ponytail. Apply volumizing spray. Straighten bangs with flatiron and loosen hair around the ears for a messy look.
RIHANNA -- '70s WAVES
Add texture to layered hair with foaming wrap lotion. Curl sections with a medium-barrel curling iron. Gently brush curls to make waves look natural. Finish with hairspray.
KIM KARDASHIAN -- THE KARDASHIAN BUN
Gather hair into a high ponytail, secure with hair elastic. Cut the toes off a (clean) sock, roll it up and place it over the ponytail on the hair elastic. Lean forward so hair covers the sock on all sides, secure with elastic. Collect excess hair and make a braid towards the back, tie it with a hair elastic and wrap the braid around the bun. Secure bun with bobby pins.
NICOLE RICHIE -- TOP KNOT

KATE MIDDLETON -- BOUNCY CURLS
Apply volumizing serum, blow dry in sections, curling ends with round brush. Comb hair at the roots in opposite direction for volume. Use large-sized curlers (or barrel iron) to add shape, finish with hairspray.
