UPDATE: The victim in the body parts case is believed to be 33-year-old Lin Jun, a Chinese student at Montreal's Concordia University, according to the Hamilton Spectator.PARIS - French police say they're actively searching for a Canadian porn actor suspected of killing and dismembering his victim before sending out body parts in the mail.
Other hints are also emerging about Luka Magnotta, the main suspect in the body parts case. English tabloid the Sun, said that Magnotta contacted them months ago and the paper even warned police about the man.
"Once you kill and taste blood it’s impossible to stop," wrote Magnotta in a purported e-mail to the paper.
Toronto station CP24 has video of Magnotta auditioning for Coverguy, a reality TV show, back in 2007.
The Toronto Sun raises the possibility that Magnotta could be travelling disguised as a woman, even inviting a sketch artist to show off how Magnotta would look if he did so.
"When I looked at his features I said to myself, he could easily pass for a woman," said Diane Trepkov, the forensic artist brought in by the newspaper.
A senior French police official says he is "sure" that Luka Rocco Magnotta is currently in France.
Another French police official says Magnotta apparently flew to Paris from Montreal last weekend.
The officials say France’s fugitive search unit was ordered to hunt for Magnotta.
Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about such searches publicly.
Montreal police say they believe Magnotta, who is 29, has fled North America. A countrywide arrest warrant has been issued for Magnotta in Canada and he has also been added to Interpol's wanted person's list.
Magnotta is suspected of stabbing and dismembering a victim, videotaping his act and mailing the body parts to the offices of political parties.
On Tuesday, a severed foot was sent in the mail to the Conservative party office in Ottawa. A severed hand was intercepted before it arrived at Liberal party headquarters.
A suitcase containing a human torso was found in Montreal and, on Wednesday, police there named Magnotta as the prime suspect.
