One person was shot and two others beaten with baseball bats in separate incidents in Surrey, B.C., early Sunday morning.
One man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being shot just after 4:30 a.m. PT in the area of 92 Avenue and 147A Street.
Police believe the shooting was the result of an altercation of some sort but say it's not clear if the two parties knew each other.
Several people of interest have been identified and are in police custody.
Meanwhile, two men were beaten with baseball bats just after 1 a.m. in the area of 80th Avenue and 132nd Street.
"One male suffered about a four-inch laceration on his forehead and he had another laceration on the crown of his head,"said Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Warren Tyson.
"The second victim was found to have a fractured jaw. There were three suspects involved, we believe, and they were described as all being Caucasian males in their 20s."
Both victims were taken to Surrey Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police say at least one suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
