Alberta RCMP are warning the public to be on the lookout for a man following a Saturday standoff in Lloydminster, during which a man barricaded himself inside a house.

Police say James Daniel Munroe, 33, of Lloydminster is dangerous and may be armed. Anyone who sees him should immediately contact police.

The search comes after officers entered a home at the centre of the standoff.

"A complaint came in to police with respect to a domestic situation. We followed up with it and while we were trying to apprehend the subject that's when the standoff began," said RCMP Staff-Sgt. Shawn Lemay.

"It's hard to say for certain at this time how long he has been gone or at what time he left the residence," Lemay said,

"Although he was most recently living in Lloydminster we do understand that he would have some connections to the Barrhead area. We believe he was residing there before moving to Lloydminster."
