Missing parrot returns to owner in Toronto

Paulie, an adult male, green-winged Macaw parrot that went missing after a robbery has been reunited with his owner.

The parrot disappeared from a home in the city’s east end last Wednesday night.

Toronto police said that the bird vanished after a break-and-enter at a house near Birchmount Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

Somehow during the course of the robbery Paulie flew the coop.

The bird’s owner, Georgia Tichy, confirmed to CBC News on Monday night that Paulie was back home.

Someone spotted the brightly coloured bird in the Don Valley and notified animal services, who managed to recover the bird.

Tichy said she's just happy to have her pet back home with her.
