FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. - Telephone technology has been set up to give Albertans a quick way to share their ideas on how to improve the main highway to the oilsands.

Mike Allen, MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo, will be the host for a dial-in town hall this Thursday.

Allen was appointed last month by Premier Alison Redford to come up with ways to make Highway 63 between Edmonton and the oilsands region safer.

The road has been called "Death Highway" because of the number of fatalities and injuries over the years.

The most recent accident was a fiery collision in April that killed seven people.

The telephone town hall is to start at 7 p.m. Thursday; people can dial in using the number 1-877-229-8493 and then providing access code 19425.
