A stretch of Peel Street will remain closed for an "indefinite period" as crews work to replace another portion of the water main that burst Tuesday.
The break Tuesday closed down a stretch of Peel between between de Maisonneuve Boulevard and Ste-Catherine Street West and left crews scrambling to make repairs.
The initial repairs were made, but workers found another problem adjacent to the original break.
The Ville-Marie borough issued a release this morning saying the road will remained closed until further notice.
Five buildings on Peel Street remain without water. Only the east sidewalk will be open to pedestrians, but the borough says all shops, restaurants and offices will remain accessible.
Northbound motorists are being detoured down Ste-Catherine and Mansfield Street. Drivers heading south can take de Maisonneuve Boulevard and Stanley Street.
