2 men charged after altercation over parking spot

Two Oshawa men are facing charges after police say they allegedly assaulted a man following a dispute over a parking spot.

According to a news release from the Durham Regional Police Service, the alleged altercation occurred Tuesday afternoon, when a verbal confrontation turned physical.

At 12:55 p.m., police say they responded to a report of an assault in progress on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa, involving two assailants, one of whom was allegedly armed with a baseball bat.

When officers arrived at the scene, the two male suspects had fled on foot.

A 44-year-old man found at the scene suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries during the alleged assault.

Two male suspects were soon located.

A 19-year-old man faces charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. A second 19-year-old man faces charges of assault and mischief.
