Police in Montreal are cracking down on what they're describing as a major cocaine trafficking network operating in and around the city.
Raids started at 5:30 a.m. ET today, targeting 10 locations in the Montreal region. The exact locations haven't been disclosed.
"This network imported a lot cocaine, a big quantity of cocaine, and it was very well established in the area of Montreal," said Montreal police Const. Simon Delorme.
Investigators expect to arrest nine suspects, who they said were well known to police.
Montreal police, the RCMP, the Sûreté du Québec as well as Laval and Longueuil police are involved in the operation.
The raids are expected to continue throughout the day.
