WINNIPEG - Grade 12 students in Manitoba will soon be offered a new course on the environment.

Premier Greg Selinger says the class will be called Global Issues — Citizenship and Sustainability.

He says it will teach students about ecological issues and ethical decision-making, and will encourage them to become involved in the democratic process.

Selinger made the announcement at a United Nations conference on sustainable development in Brazil.
