In Review: Coronation's sweet

Thursday sports review

LeBron James was a king without a crown until Thursday night, when he completed a dominant NBA Finals performance to lead the Miami Heat to the championship.

James had a triple double in Game 5 to help eliminate the Oklahoma City Thunder and win the most valuable player award. The Heat bring out the passion, evident by Twitter reaction to their title.

Not unlike LeBron, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken the rap for being a brilliant individual stylist but not able to fully flourish for Portugal on the biggest stage. He was part of the country's runner-up squad at Euro in 2004, but he is the unquestioned driving force now.

There's two huge tests left after Thursday's quarter-final win, but could Ronaldo lead Portugal to its first major international championship?

It's more accurately a rite than a coronation, but every year one NHL team decrees who will be the top overall pick. If the Edmonton Oilers don't trade it away, who should they take? One scout says they should take forward Nail Yakupov, who is shrugging off anti-Russian biases based on other players.

You can see what Edmonton does and give your immediate reaction in our live online chat Friday at 7 p.m. ET.

Finally, if you reached this page in error, here ya go.
