We know people can go to extremes for charity -- but would you go naked across a zip line to raise funds for a cause you believed in?
Eighty-four women gathered at ZipZone Adventure Park outside Kelowna, BC to raise funds for breast cancer research this week, reports Castanet.net. The caveat? They had to zip across the canyon topless -- and ladies were lining up to do it.
"I'm okay with being naked -- if someone can face breast cancer bravely, we can face a little bit .. of nudity," says one of the participants in the video, before adding with a laugh, "Just don't let my mom and dad see it, okay?"
The event started in 2011, when a roller derby group asked if they could have a naked zip line and raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, according to AM1150 -- their event donated $1,500 to the cause.
This year, ZipZone owner Kevin Bennett took matters into his own hands and created spots for 100 women, with a minimum $100 donation to breast cancer. Though only 84 turned out -- including a 73-year-old woman who is a 24-year breast cancer survivor -- they raised $15,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
