1 dead, 1 injured in Langley shooting

One man is dead and another is in critical condition in hospital after a shooting in Langley, B.C., early Saturday morning.

Police were called to a home in the 6400 block of Glover Road just after 2:30 a.m. PT to what was described as a domestic dispute.

"The Langley RCMP did attend that residence and located several individuals outside of a home, and a further search inside the home revealed two males that appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds," said Sgt. Jennifer of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Police said the inside of the home had been doused with bear spray.

Five people, ranging in age from 17 to 22, were arrested at the scene. Four men remain in custody while a woman has been released. No charges have been laid.

Pound said police are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.

"The victims ... we have yet to identify them, so until we can identify them we're not going to have a lot of info on what this is related to," she said.

"The five individuals that were arrested, we are currently trying to determine what their association is to the residents as well as the two victims. I can tell you that the Langley RCMP have attended that home before."

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
