Lightning bolster left side with trade for Benoit Pouliot

The Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay worked out a deal on the second day of the NHL Draft, with left wing Benoit Pouliot heading to the Lightning.

The Bruins received veteran forward Michel Ouellet and a fifth round pick which they used to Saturday to select forward Seth Griffith from the London Knights.

Pouliot, who will turn 26 in September, set career highs in goals and points last season despite a slow start. After managing just two goals in his first 16 games, he added 14 goals and 16 assists in the next 58 games he played.

Ouellet, 30, last playe din the NHL in 2008-09 with Vancouver. He has scored 52 goals and 64 assists in 190 regular season games, with most of his NHL experience gained with Pittsburgh.

He spent all of last season with Tampa Bay's American Hockey League affiliate in Norfolk.
