Body of ATV rider found months later

Quebec provincial police have identified a body found June 14 as that of an Ottawa-area man who fell through the Ottawa River ice in late February.

Michel Hudon, 50, was presumed drowned February 27 when police called off a search for his body due to dangerous river conditions.

Hudon was aboard an all-terrain vehicle two days earlier with two others when the ice broke under them near Clarence-Rockland, just east of Ottawa.

The search for the man was started by Ontario Provincial Police but soon transferred to Quebec police when it was discovered the accident happened on the Quebec side of the river.
