Three males are in custody after a security guard was stabbed in the Yonge and Dundas area.

Toronto police Const. Tony Vella said that a group of people was breaking into cars in the Toronto Parking Authority lot underneath Yonge-Dundas Square when an altercation occurred with the security officer.

The guard was taken to hospital conscious and breathing. Police originally said the guard had life threatening injuries, but the victim is now expected to be OK.

Police are going through security-camera footage, Vella said.
