Teenager sexually assaulted in North Vancouver

North Vancouver RCMP have issued a warning after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in her home on Upper Capilano Road on Thursday.

The attack took place just after midday, when the girl answered the door to a man who claimed he was there to do contract work for her parents, but once the girl let him in, he proceeded to sexually assault her.

The man was not known to the teen or her parents.

RCMP have been canvassing the neighbourhood to see if anyone else was approached and hope to have a composite drawing ready for release shortly.

Police are also advising all North Vancouver citizens to be extra vigilant when allowing strangers onto their property or into their residence, for whatever reason.

Anyone who may know anything about this individual or incident is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
