Oshawa man's body pulled from Peterborough lake

An Oshawa man drowned in a Peterborough lake on Canada Day.

A news release from the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service says the victim was swimming near the city’s art gallery when he went under the water in Little Lake on Sunday afternoon.

His body was later recovered by the Ontario Provincial Police dive team at 8 p.m.

Charles Urqhart, 30, of Oshawa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been transported to Toronto for a post-mortem examination.
