Toronto police investigate apparent high-rise meth lab

Police are searching for one man after he escaped from a Scarborough apartment that police believe was being used as a drug lab.

The suspect shimmied down from a 30th-floor balcony to a lower floor and then escaped, according to police.

Hazardous material teams were sent to apartment building at 190 Borough Drive around 4:30 p.m. to investigate what they believe is a meth lab in one of the units.

Residents on the same floor were told to leave the building but are now being allowed back into their apartments.

The drug squad along with police and fire remain on the scene
