Tractor-trailer drivers charged in Hwy. 401 crash

Two tractor-trailer drivers have been charged after a fiery crash on Highway 401 Friday near Gananoque, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say two tractor-trailers and two other vehicles were involved in a crash just before 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. A fire resulting from the crash destroyed both tractor-trailer units.

One tractor-trailer driver suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Four others suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate, police say.

A 44-year-old driver of the lead tractor-trailer from Mississauga, Ont., faces a careless driving charge.

Another driver, 57, of St-Anne de Mad, N.B., was charged with following too closely.
