Two-year-old hit by stray bullet out of hospital

A two-year-old girl hit in the leg by a stray bullet this weekend is now out of hospital.

Police had said that a toddler was sitting in a vehicle out front of a residence in the Sentinel Road and Sheppard Avenue West area Saturday night, when she was stuck on one of her legs by a projectile.

The girl's aunt, Janet Taylor, said the only sign of distress was the girl's screams.

"There was no sound, I mean the only sound we heard was fireworks from all different directions," Taylor said.

The girl was taken to hospital and has since been released.

Police are still investigating the incident and tracing the origins of the bullet round.
