Downburst causes damage in southern Quebec

About 6,000 Hydro-Québec customers are still without power after strong winds and hail pummelled the province's southern region Wednesday evening.

The storm uprooted several mature trees, and also damaged several farmers' fields in Saint-Rémi.

Hydro crews are in the area, replacing some power poles and repairing power lines damaged by falling tree branches.

The damage is clearly defined in a 35-metre-wide corridor.
